All You Need To Know About Nintendo Switch OLED

Nintedo switch OLED

Nintendo’s Switch has been a huge success, so much so that the OLED model was announced earlier this year. Even though the Nintendo Switch OLED model is similar in many ways, it has some big changes that will make it better to own.

Even if you already have a Switch or Switch Lite, you might want to get the new OLED model. Still, Nintendo is more interested in getting new customers than in keeping old ones. Some people don’t think it’s worth the money to switch from their old system to the new one or even to add to their family because of the improvements.

But if you don’t already have a Switch and want one, it’s clear that the OLED model is the way to go. So, we put together this helpful guide with all the information you need about the Nintendo Switch OLED. You can read all about it below if you’re considering getting one.

What is the OLED display on the Nintendo Switch?

The newest member of the Switch family is the Switch OLED. It’s the newest video game system from Nintendo, and you can play it in three different ways. You can use it as a handheld device, put it on a table or in the dock, and connect it to a TV for a more relaxed experience.

It also has a few changes that make it better than the first model. It plays all the same games as the original model, so it is still very similar. But there are some unique differences in how they look and a few smaller changes that will keep the system up to date and improve it.

What does the OLED Nintendo Switch cost?

At stores, the OLED Nintendo Switch will cost $349.99. As long as official stores like GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, and others have it in stock, you should always be able to get it for the right price. But if resellers buy up the stock, it could cost more. You can also expect Nintendo to sell the Switch OLED in bundles with extras. Like games, flashcards, and other things.

When can I get the OLED Nintendo Switch?

Later this year, Nintendo will put out the Switch OLED. The 8th of October in particular. It can be pre-ordered at Target and several other stores, including the ones listed above. Online, most or all stores are listed as being out of stock.

So right now, your only choice might be to try to pre-order it at a store near you. The closer the release date, the more likely the stock will fill up again. So if you want an OLED model of the Nintendo Switch, keep an eye out for new stock.

Where will the OLED Nintendo Switch be available?

The OLED model will come out everywhere at the same time. That means you’ll be able to get it in all the big places, like the US, UK, Europe, Latin America, Canada, Japan, Southeast Asia, etc. If you can get the regular Switch in your area, you should also be able to get the OLED model.

What changes are there?

The console now has an OLED screen. This is the biggest change or at least the one that most people will notice first. Also, the screen is a little bigger, but not by much. Aside from the new OLED screen, the back of the phone now has a bigger kickstand. The original Switch had a small piece in the back left corner that could be used as a kickstand.

It did a good job of holding up the console, but people were worried about how fragile it could be. The kickstand on the new OLED model is almost as wide as the whole Switch. The kickstand can be changed as well. So, all in all, it’s a big improvement over the kickstand on the older model. Now, the dock also works with wired LAN.

So, if you don’t want to use Wi-Fi, you can hardwire the PlayStation to your home internet when it’s in the dock. This will make it much easier to play games online, and games and other content should be able to be downloaded much faster. It also comes in a new color and has 64GB of internal storage. The sound has also been improved.

Are all games compatible?

Yes. All existing games work with each other. Since this is mostly the same console, only a few parts and features have been changed or added. That means you can link it to your Nintendo account and re-download any games you’ve bought on the game’s now larger internal storage. You can also put in all the Switch game cards and any new ones that came out for the regular Switch.

Enjoy playing games in three different ways.

You can play games in three ways, like with the original Switch: TV mode, Handheld mode, and Tabletop mode.

TV mode

In TV mode, you put the Switch OLED in the dock, as shown in the picture above. When you use HDMI to connect the console to your TV. Then, to play games, you use the Joy-Con with the controller grip that came with it. In this mode, you can also use the wired LAN port on the dock to connect the Switch OLED to the internet. But if you want a more stable connection, you can use the LAN port. And since it’s hardwired, you should be able to download faster.

Handheld mode

In handheld mode, you can take the Joy-Con out of the controller grip and hook them to the sides of the Switch’s OLED display. You can take your games with you in a neat, portable console. In this mode, the Switch OLED is now powered by a battery, so it will need to be charged occasionally.

Tabletop mode

In tabletop mode, you can take the Switch OLED out of the dock, pull out the kickstand, and establish it on a flat surface, so you don’t have to hold it while you play. This is a way to play games by yourself or with a friend. You each have your own Joy-Con controller. This mode is great when you’re on the go and don’t want to hold the console. Also, this makes it simple to use Hulu to watch movies.

What do you want to know about the new screen?

The new screen is 7 inches and has an OLED panel. This gives you more room to play your favorite games. Since the console now has an OLED screen, the colors will be more vivid, and the blacks will be deeper, giving you a better visual experience. The display is also a capacitive touchscreen that more than one person can use. It has a resolution of 1280 x 720p. Compared to the regular Switch’s LCD screen, which is 6.2 inches and has the same resolution.

How long does the battery on the OLED model of the Nintendo Switch last?

Nintendo says the Switch OLED should have the same battery life as the regular Switch. A single charge will give you anywhere from 4.5 to 9 hours of battery life. This can change based on a wide variety of things, of course. If you make the screen brighter, it will affect how long the battery will last. You could also change it by what game you’re playing, whether or not you’re using Wi-Fi, or by changing the volume.

Also, it’s important to note that using an OLED screen would likely help the battery capacity in most cases. But since this model has a bigger screen, things should be about the same. Still, 4.5 to 9 hours is pretty good for battery life. And if you’re going to sit for more than 9 hours, there’s nothing wrong with taking a short break to re-energize before returning to work.
